Light + Building 2022 | Frankfurt Lighting Fair

In view of the increasing spread of the coronavirus in Europe and after intensive consultations, Messe Frankfurt has decided to cancel Light + Building 2020. The world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building-services technology will be held in Frankfurt am Main from March 13 to 18, 2022.

Light+Building is the world's leading industry fair for lighting, design and intelligent building services technology and the market and meeting place for all international industry leaders. The fair is distinguished by the combination of lighting and building-services technology - with an extensive array of products unrivalled in terms of depth and breadth. Light+Building covers practically the entire market for technical lighting, lamps, decorative lights and accessories. The industry will be showing intelligent solutions, future-oriented technology and the latest design trends on 248,500 square metres of exhibition space in 22 halls. only at the world's largest lighting exhibition will you meet more than 220,000 trade visitors from all over the world with the necessary decision-making competence. The trade fair, which runs from 8 to 13 March 2020, is a fixed date in the diaries of global manufacturers and trade visitors.

The fair will present a complete spectrum of lighting products. Advances in LED technology have contributed to the development of LEDs with a satisfactorily high light output, which makes them an appealing alternative to incandescent or fluorescent lamps. LED lighting fixtures have been utilized ubiquitously in residences, offices, institutional, commercial, industrial, and a host of other environments, as energy-efficient alternatives to fluorescent, incandescent and other types of lighting fixtures which use less efficient light sources. The range of LED lights comprises everything from designer and home LED fixtures in styles from modern to classical to all kinds of lamps, architectural, industrial and commercial LED luminaires for a wide range of applications, such as LED high bay lights, LED flood lights, LED street lights, LED panel lights, LED downlights, area lighting, wall washers, explosion proof lights, architectural spotlights,and more. 

In the 2018 Frankfurt Lighting Fair, over 2,700 exhibitors from 55 countries debuted their latest products and innovations for the lighting, electrical engineering, home and building automation and safety and security sectors on more than 260,000 square metres spread in 25 exhibition halls. Altogether, some 1,650 companies exhibited their entire spectrum of products and services in the lighting segment. Manufacturers presented their latest products for technical lighting and lamps in a wide variety of versions and for all applications. At the same time, a wide selection of both technical and designer luminaires, as well as decorative lamps of all styles were exhibited, covering all price ranges and for both residential and non-residential environments. And the spectrum was completed by a large selection of technical lighting components and accessories, as well as outdoor and street lighting. Renowned companies, such as Artemide, Bega, Brand van Egmont, Erco, Fagerhult Group, Faustig, Flos, iGuzzini, Ingo Maurer, LG, Louis Poulsen, Luceplan, Lumileds, Martinelli Luc, Nimbus, Nordeon Group, Occhio, Osram, Signify (Philips), Samsung, Schréder, Tobias Grau, Trilux, Vibia Lighting, Zero and Zumtobel, were represented and indicated the comprehensive range of lighting that will be on display at Light + Building. Also represented at pavilions are the various bus technologies, e.g., BACnet, EnOcean, KNX and LON.
